BRADENTON MARAUDERS AUGUST PROMOTIONS SCHEDULE RELEASED

Marauders Premium Giveaways and Theme Nights are Highlights of this Season’s Final Games.

Bradenton, Fla. – The Bradenton Marauders today announced the team’s August promotional schedule will include five promotional giveaways, six theme nights and three special ticket nights.

The promotional giveaways will begin on Friday, August 6th with the highly anticipated team card set.  The first 500 fans to enter the gates on this night will receive a pack of the trading cards.  The following home stand, the Marauders will give away team photos and backpacks to 1,000 lucky fans.  The backpacks are courtesy of Bright House Networks and the Manatee Education Foundation and will be stuffed with back-to-school items.  A portion of the backpacks will be donated to Project Heart, which is a program that assists families and students who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

The mascot bobblehead is scheduled as the giveaway on Friday, August 27, 2010 and will go to the first 1,000 fans through the gates.  All giveaways are one giveaway item per person with a valid game ticket.

The theme nights begin August 5 and will include College Night, Brides and Baseball, Latin Heritage Night, Girl Scout Night, Get Your Pink On! Help the Marauders Strike-Out Breast Cancer and Wingfest.  Brides and Baseball was rescheduled for August 7, 2010 after the rainout on July 23rd and will feature a scavenger hunt for 100 women to win a $2,400 diamond ring. 

The Marauders will feature three special ticket promotions in August.  This promotion – 3-2-1, Marauders Monday Countdown – will span the final three Mondays in August and will feature three, two and one dollar tickets respectively for each of the final Mondays.  The final Monday, August 30th, is also Fan Appreciation Night and fans will experience an explosion of giveaways and special fun.

A final Fireworks Extravaganza will occur on the final Saturday of the season, August 28th, and there is a Florida Blood Services Blood Drive scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Wednesday, August 4th.  Those who donate will receive one free ticket to that evening’s game and a slice of Demetrio’s Pizza. 

The popular Bands & Baseball series also continues during Friday home games in August with Democracy on August 6th, Gumbo Boogie on August 13th and the Yesterdayze on August 27th.  In recognition of the final Friday, Yesterdayze will play a special pre-game prelude from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. and then return following the game for a post-game concert.

 “Unity in the Community” Back to School Resource & Wellness Rally

Redeemed Christian Center, Just for Girls, Bradenton Housing Authority and Bradenton CCRA will be hosting the 7th Annual Back to School Resource & Wellness Rally.  This fun filled day is designed to celebrate the family and will promote “Unity in the Community”.  This event will address the physical, social, emotional, spiritual, vocational, intellectual and nutritional needs of the community.

The is a FREE event, and will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the East Bradenton Center of Just for Girls, located at 1011 21st St E, Bradenton, FL  34208. Free back packs filled with school supplies will be given to school age children who attend with a parent. All food, games and services such as physicals, immunizations and screenings will also be free to the community.


SATURDAY DOG ADOPTION DAY THE RANCH!  

With so many to choose from, young and old, all colors and breeds/mixes, all just looking for their new family!  Adoptions start at 10am and end at 1pm, but wait, at 1pm, the fun really starts!  Come watch Mike Harvey, The Canine Coach, www.TheCanineCoach.net, teach the Honor dogs how to swim!  In the big horshoe pool at the Ranch.   Volunteers will bring the dogs to learn how to swim if they don't know, they will become more drownproof...and enjoy a refreshing swim!!  Some swim with the fish, we swim with our dogs!!!!

With the prolonged economic downturn, local agencies are in need of food, now more than ever.   TechHouse is sponsoring its 3rd Annual Summer Food Drive – Summer Harvest 2010 to support the Manatee County Food Bank and All Faith’s Food Bank (which services Sarasota County).   Please join us in helping the needy of our community by donating canned and non-perishable food items.  

The Food Drive will be kicked off on Tuesday, July 13th and will be completed on Tuesday, September 7th.   Donation bins are located at TechHouse offices (located in ComCenter building(s) - lobby area) with locations at 9040 Town Center Parkway, Lakewood Ranch and at 6150 S.R. 70 East in Bradenton.
