The Bank of America Charitable Foundation’s Student Leaders® Program is accepting applications for the 2021 Student Leaders® program. In light of your affiliation with youth, we would like your help spreading the word. Since its inception in 2004, the Bank of America Student Leaders Program has recognized more than 3,000 exemplary high school juniors and seniors who have a passion for improving their communities. The program helps students gain a greater understanding of how nonprofits create impact in the community and helps develop them as the next generation of community leaders through two components:
· An eight-week paid summer internship with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County starting in June-July 2021. This internship is designed to provide opportunities for the students to develop and apply leadership skills through hands-on work experience, while raising their awareness of community issues addressed by their Host Organization (Opportunity to participate in board meetings, funding meetings, development, IT, social media, functions of how the club runs, interacting with the kids, program development, etc.).
· A week-long, all-expense paid Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C. from July 12-17, 2021. Conducted in partnership with the Close Up Foundation, the Summit introduces students to aspects of civic, social and business leadership and provides them with knowledge and skills they will use throughout their life to create positive community change.
· Eligibility: The student MUST be a junior/senior, MUST NOT be related to anyone that works at Bank of America, MUST have strong commitment to community, and MUST be able to commit to the 8 week internship program and attend the Student Leader Summit in Washington, DC from July 12-17.
