Education remains one of the pillars of any community, and considering recent events, school districts across the country are implementing new measures to ensure the safety students, faculty, and staff. Chief of Police for the newly formed Sarasota County Schools Police Department, Tim Enos, joins us to share a look inside this new department, which oversees all safety and security for the Sarasota school district’s 45,000 students and 46 sites.
About Our Speaker
Chief Timothy (Tim) Enos holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida State University and is a 28-year law enforcement veteran. Chief Enos currently serves as the Chief of Police for the Sarasota County Schools Police Department. Prior to becoming Chief, Tim was the Bureau Commander of the Emergency Operations Bureau of the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office which oversaw the consolidated communications center for Sarasota County. Chief Enos was also a supervisor of the Youth Services Section and the Crime Prevention Unit for the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (FL) for 15 years.
Chief Enos serves as a Senior Instructor for the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) and the School Safety Advocacy Council, and continues to travel, speak and consult for many governmental and non-governmental organizations.
