Manatee County accepting Special Magistrate applications

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (July 28, 2017) – Manatee County is accepting applicants for vacancies for two Special Magistrates, volunteer positions who hear and decide alleged violations of Manatee’s Land Development Code and Code of Ordinances, imposing fines against the violators.
All Manatee County residents may apply for any of the volunteer positions. Special Magistrates are usually people with a legal background and/or law experience.  The new Special Magistrate appointees will fill four year terms which expire in October 2021.
The Special Magistrate typically holds hearings on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. in the first floor chambers of the Manatee County Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Ave., W., Bradenton.
