MANATEE COUNTY, FL (Dec. 12, 2017) – Nominated by fellow Public Safety employees, voted on by Manatee County employees and unanimously approved by Manatee County Commissioners, Emergency Medical Technician Aaron White today became Manatee County's 2017 Employee of the Year.
As an EMT, Aaron responds and cares for medical and trauma patients in northern areas of Manatee County. He provides patients with basic life support, and assists with advanced life support patients. Emergency Medical Services Chief Paul DiCicco said Aaron has an outstanding attitude and he provides much-needed levity in a stressful position. During today's presentation, County Commissioners watched a touching video of Aaron in action in the community.
"Aaron goes above and beyond what is required in his job description," said Aaron's supervisor EMS District Chief Keith Lock. "He is an excellent ambassador for Manatee County Emergency Medical Services and he promotes goodwill for Manatee County. He shows enthusiasm for his position, and is excited to put forth any extra effort that is asked bf him."
Accepting the award, Aaron thanked God, his fiance and his coworkers who he called "some of the best people in the world."
"I'm so proud and honored to work with these guys," he said. "Thank you for allowing me to be here today. I'm so grateful and humbled. I share this award with my whole department."
